The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for Mujaheed Suraj, alias Mims, who is accused of shooting and injuring a man in the leg at Odukpong School Park in the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Central Region.

The suspect fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle, which has since been impounded by the police.

The shooting incident, which occurred during a confrontation reportedly involving family members, left the victim, identified as the driver of a New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, injured.

An eyewitness recounted that the suspect fired a warning shot to disperse a crowd but ended up injuring the victim.

The police have assured the public that an intelligence-led operation is underway to apprehend the suspect and bring him to justice.

The incident has heightened tensions in the area, with authorities urging calm while investigations continue.

β€œWe want to assure the public that we will surely get him,” the police stated, emphasizing their commitment to resolving the case and ensuring public safety.
