The Central North Regional Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into what it describes as a “heinous crime” following the discovery of a woman’s body in Kokoase, a suburb of Twifo Praso in the Central Region.
The victim, identified as Tahiru Zenabu, was found dead in her room on Saturday with a cloth tightly wrapped around her neck and visible blood stains on her hands.
In a chilling scene that has left residents shocked, police retrieved several suspicious items from the room, including a container of super glue, a torn condom package, and an apple.
The body has since been deposited at the Twifo Praso Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy as investigators work to piece together the circumstances leading to the apparent murder.
“We are treating this as a serious and brutal case,” the police said in a statement. “Investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the perpetrators of this heinous crime to face justice.”
The incident has sparked fear and outrage within the local community, with many calling for swift action and enhanced security in the area.
