The Public Utilities Workers Union (PUWU) has called for an urgent investigation into the disappearance of multiple containers belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
Timothy Nyame, PUWU’s General Secretary, speaking on ABC this morning, insisted that every effort must be made to trace the missing containers and hold those responsible accountable.
This demand comes as the government has formed a technical committee to review ECG’s operations. The committee is tasked with assessing whether a full or partial privatization of the company would be a viable option.
PUWU has stressed that before any discussions on privatization take place, the mystery surrounding the missing containers must be unraveled.
“The committee should use all due processes to recover these items and ensure accountability,” Nyame stated.
