The School Feeding Caterers Association has vowed to continue their protest until the overdue payments are deposited into their accounts.
The association picketed the Ministry of Gender this morning, expressing their frustration over the delay in payments of the two terms.
Following the picket, a meeting was held between the association and officials from the Comptroller and Accountant General’s Department.
“The Controller and Accountant General has promised us that by the close of today, our monies will hit our accounts,” the association’s president Gifty Asamoah confirmed.
She added that after the meeting, the Controller made a follow-up call to the Ministry to check on the progress, and was assured by the Deputy Minister that funds would be disbursed by the end of tomorrow.
“We have trust in the Controller that everything will be fine by tomorrow,” the president stated.
However, she also made it clear that the association will continue to monitor the situation closely, including reaching out to other stakeholders to ensure the process is completed as promised.
“The moment the monies hit our accounts, everything stops,” she emphasized.
