The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an attack and robbery of a businessman in Ashaiman, Greater Accra Region.
According to a statement by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dede Dzakpasu, Public Affairs Officer of the Tema Regional Police Command, the incident occurred on February 26, 2025.
The first suspect, Karim Fatao, was apprehended on the same day, while the second suspect, Wonder Babanawo, who had been on the police wanted list for multiple robberies in Ashaiman and Tema, was arrested on March 29, 2025.
A search on the suspects led to the discovery of a Ruger pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, 30 mobile phone covers, six SIM cards, suspected Indian hemp, one Samsung tablet, and three copies of land indenture. The police believe these items may be linked to other criminal activities in the region.
Authorities confirmed that Fatao was put before the court on March 3, 2025, and remanded into police custody, while Babanawo remains in custody awaiting his court appearance. The Tema Regional Police Command assured the public of its commitment to tackling crime and bringing offenders to justice.
