Nana Kwame Bediako, an independent presidential aspirant and leader of the New Force Movement, has made a bold accusation against the current administration, stating that Ghana, despite having a lawyer as President, is under a dictatorship.
“We have had lawyers as Presidents, but we live under dictatorship, ” he said.
Bediako made this claim during the launch of his virtual manifesto, titled “12 Pillars for Economic Freedom,” as part of his campaign for the upcoming general election scheduled for December 7th, 2024.
During the manifesto launch, Bediako outlined several key policies aimed at transforming Ghana’s economic and social landscape.
One of his major proposals is the establishment of 15 multi-functional sports academies across the country.
He emphasized that each region would have its own sports academy, which would be instrumental in nurturing young talents in the sports industry, regardless of their regional origin.
In addition to his sports initiative, Bediako announced plans to develop a National Web 3 platform.
This technological platform is intended to secure all government databases, reflecting his focus on advancing Ghana’s technological infrastructure to meet contemporary challenges.
He stressed the importance of safeguarding government data in the digital age.
Bediako also revealed his intentions to increase Ghana’s gold reserves significantly.
He proposed a policy where 30% of all gold mined in Ghana would be allocated to government reserves.
This measure, according to Bediako, would strengthen the nation’s economic sovereignty and ensure that more of the country’s natural wealth benefits the Ghanaian people.
These policies, along with others mentioned during his speech, form the foundation of his vision for Ghana’s future if elected as President.
