Richard Kwashie Kovey, the Greater Accra Regional Secretary for NAGRAT, has revealed that heads of schools have been silenced in their attempts to request parental assistance due to fears of victimization.
He stated that NAGRAT’s concerns are often ignored, and school leaders feel threatened by the backlash they receive when they try to raise important issues.
Kovey emphasized that this is not the first time NAGRAT has spoken out on the matter, and the constant suppression of their voices undermines the ability to address critical challenges in the education sector.
In an interview on ABC News, Mr. Kovey also highlighted that parents are willing to contribute to the well-being of their children in schools.
He called on the government to allow such contributions without fear of repercussions.
Kovey’s plea stresses the importance of collaboration between parents and school authorities to enhance the educational experience, suggesting that fostering an environment of open communication and support could significantly benefit students’ learning outcomes.
