The Quarm-LMI Consortium, tasked with reviving the long-stalled Saglemi Housing Project, has announced plans to complete over 1,500 housing units within 400 days.
The project, which has faced years of delays and controversies, is being repositioned for public sale as part of efforts to address Ghana’s housing deficit.
Speaking after a courtesy call on the Ningo Traditional Council, Kofi Adabor Ofori-Amanfo, Managing Director of the consortium, outlined the steps required to ensure the project’s success.
“Currently, we inherited the shell structures, and some of them will go through structural integrity tests to ensure we are not going to sell unsafe homes. This development has been left for more than seven years, exposed to bad weather conditions and some flooding, necessitating significant re-engineering work,” he stated.
The consortium has committed to conducting thorough assessments and re-engineering efforts to meet safety and quality standards.
Mr. Ofori-Amanfo stressed the importance of delivering a secure and durable development, adding, “Tentatively, we are looking at around 400 days to complete the entire project for sale to the public.”
