The Police Hospital has announced it will conduct a mass burial on February 25, 2025, for seven unclaimed bodies that have been stored at the VIP Mortuary in Bogoso, Western Region, for the past 20 months.
The unclaimed remains include victims of vehicle accidents, abandoned bodies, and individuals who succumbed to crime-related injuries, according to a statement signed by the Medical Director of the Police Hospital, COP Dr. Samuel Out-Nyarko.
Despite repeated attempts by the Bogoso Police to locate the next of kin, no relatives have come forward.
The Police urged families who may have lost contact with loved ones to liaise with the Bogoso Police for potential identification.
They also advised the public to carry valid ID cards and share emergency contact details to prevent individuals from being classified as unknown in such tragic circumstances.
