Member of parliament for Madina constituency, Francis Xavier Sosu has lamented against the recent misunderstandings surrounding parliament’s vacant seats.
He says the speaker is not at fault and must be free from the attacks.
He made this statement at parliament before sitting today, November 7, 2024.
“He (Speaker Alban Bagbin) is a Leader of this House.”
“Lets respect the sanctity of parliament. The Supreme Court must respect parliament. The Executives must respect parliament, the people of Ghana must respect Parliament.”
“This is the chamber of the people.”
“We were elected by the sovereign will of the people to come and defend Ghana’s democracy, and we will not fail the people.”
He added that, “if we fail to defend the majority that the NDC has attained, then we have failed to uphold the sanctity of our democracy.”
