Solomon Owusu, a Senior Communicator with the Movement for Change, has emphasized that no political party is campaigning as vigorously as their own.

Speaking on ABC Midday on Friday, November 15, 2024, Owusu underscored the dedication and nationwide reach of their efforts. “The party has started a caravan,” he stated, highlighting that their presidential candidate, Mr. Alan, is currently engaging with communities in the Ahafo Region.

“All members are also scattered around the country, explaining to voters why there is a need to move beyond the entrenched duopolies and embrace an independent candidate to unify the nation in these polarized times,” he added.

Owusu argued that despite these efforts, there has been limited media attention on their campaign compared to the major parties.

“On the contrary, there is no candidate vying for the presidency who is campaigning more than my candidate, Alan,” he asserted.

He pointed out that the media’s focus remains on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), creating an impression that other parties, like the Movement for Change, are less active.

He also stressed that their campaign does not rely on orchestrated spectacles, saying, “We are not interested in doing these funfair campaigns where people are bussed in, cameras are set up, and everything is staged to be broadcasted.”

Despite these challenges, Owusu commended ABC News GH for providing a platform that allows for broader political discourse. “ABC News GH is one of the few media houses giving voice to other parties,” he said.

He noted that without such coverage, voters would be trapped between the familiar NPP and NDC, which, he claimed, have had “32 years of destroying this country.” He stressed that Ghanaians are yearning for a significant shift away from the traditional powerhouses.

Owusu concluded with confidence, stating that his party has put in substantial groundwork and anticipates a major victory in the upcoming December elections. “Everything shows that Ghanaians need a change from these two incompetent political parties,” he declared, expressing hope that Alan’s leadership will be chosen to guide the nation forward.

Following this, the NDC’s are confident will win 54% of total votes.

Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, the Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said, “I can assure you, they will score zero throughout, because everybody is looking for change.”

In an interview on ABC’s morning show, he asserted that the NPP’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will not surpass 40% in this election.

Dr Tanko-Computer emphasized that there will be no court declarations regarding the 2024 election outcomes, as he believes the NDC will dominate the polling stations with its legal and academic representatives closely monitoring the process.

“As we speak now, we have National Field of Trainees on the field. They are training and retraining agents. We started training them as far back as June,” he said.

“We will flag it out there, no court will declare any result for us, it is at the polling station.

“We have said this and saying it again, NDC is not going to any court with any election matter,” Dr Tanko-Computer added.
