Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, sitting in the Appointment Committee, has urged Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine, the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice-designate, to “walk the talk” and ensure accountability and sanity within the justice sector.
“I pray that you will walk the talk ensuring sanity in the sector,” Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin said.
Markin’s comment came during Dr. Ayine’s vetting on Monday, January 13, 2025, indicating the high expectations from the nominee to deliver on his promises if appointed into the position.
In his response, Dr. Ayine emphasized the importance of decentralizing anti-corruption institutions, noting that such agencies should not be confined to Accra but should be accessible to all Ghanaians to avoid depriving other regions.

The Bolgatanga East lawmaker also assured the committee that he would not compromise the interests of Ghana, signaling his firm stance on ensuring justice, legal reforms, and the rule of law if confirmed as Attorney-General.
