Nsoatreman FC has officially withdrawn from the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League, citing security concerns for its players. In a formal letter addressed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in March 2025, the club expressed its inability to continue participating in the league due to recent incidents that have raised serious safety issues.
The club stated that their decision was influenced by recent events in matches against Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex. Although specific details were not disclosed, Nsoatreman FC confirmed that it had already communicated its concerns to the GFA.
“We are forced to take this decision due to recent events involving our matches with Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Samatex FC, which we officially wrote to your high office,” the letter read.
Nsoatreman FC emphasized that ensuring the well-being of its players is the club’s top priority. The management and board of directors felt they had no option but to withdraw from the league in light of the security risks.
“In light of this, we can no longer guarantee the safety of our players. Therefore, management and the board of directors are left with no choice but to prioritize the safety and security of our players by withdrawing from the league.”

The withdrawal of Nsoatreman FC is likely to have major implications on the Ghana Premier League standings and match schedules. With one less team in the competition, the GFA may have to adjust fixtures and address concerns from other clubs.
Nsoatreman FC concluded its statement by apologizing for any inconvenience caused by its exit and expressing gratitude for the GFA’s cooperation.
