The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has paid a courtesy call on former President John Dramani Mahama, where he called on government appointees to uphold diligence and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
During the visit, President Mahama described the visit as “a powerful reaffirmation of the empowering bond between traditional leadership and government,” emphasizing the importance of collaboration between both institutions.
“We are deeply honored to welcome you today,” he added.
President Mahama commended Otumfuo’s ongoing efforts to mediate the Bawku conflict, which has claimed over 300 lives and disrupted livelihoods. “Though complex, you have given us a renewed form of hope,” he noted.
He further expressed optimism about the outcome of the peace process, stating, “I wish you well in this endeavor, and we hope that lasting peace will prevail in Bawku.”
The President also assured that the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) maternity block will be completed under the current administration.
