Apostle Eric Ofori, Proprietor of Jesus Freedom Educational Complex at Kwaso in the Ashanti Region, has called on private school proprietors to improve teachers’ salaries and invest in modern teaching and learning facilities to enhance the quality of education.
He observed that some private schools continued to use outdated teaching materials, stressing the need for greater investment in technology and other educational resources to meet the demands of modern education.
Apostle Ofori said providing qualified teachers with decent remuneration, better working conditions and appropriate teaching equipment was essential to improving their performance and ensuring effective teaching and learning.
He made the call during the commissioning of a self-funded 23-unit ultramodern computer laboratory at the school on Friday, October 9, 2026.

He said Information and Communication Technology (ICT) had become an integral part of education, making it necessary for schools to equip pupils with the digital skills required to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven society.
According to him, access to modern computer facilities would improve pupils’ digital literacy, expand their learning opportunities and prepare them for future academic and professional pursuits.
He added that the school planned to expand the facility further to respond to the growing importance of technology in education.
Apostle Ofori explained that establishing the school was driven by his desire to nurture responsible future leaders by equipping young people with the knowledge, skills and values needed to contribute to national development.
He therefore encouraged private school proprietors to prioritise investment in educational infrastructure and human resources, noting that teachers’ welfare and access to appropriate teaching tools were critical to achieving improved educational outcomes.
The commissioning of the computer laboratory attracted commendation from parents, who described the facility as a significant addition to the school’s educational resources.

Mrs Comfort Annobil, Chairperson of the school’s Parents and Teachers’ Association (PTA), said the facility would enrich pupils’ learning experiences and provide them with greater exposure to technology-based education.
She expressed satisfaction that pupils could benefit from Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education despite the school’s moderate fees and flexible payment arrangements.

Mrs Annobil thanked the proprietor for the investment, describing the computer laboratory as an important step towards improving the quality of education offered by the school.
Nana Twumasi Ankrah, Okyeame of the Kwasohene also praised the initiative but urged parents to supervise their children’s internet activities to ensure the responsible use of technology.

He noted that although the internet provided valuable educational opportunities, some children spent considerable time on entertainment and social media platforms, including TikTok, instead of using digital resources to broaden their knowledge.
Nana Ankrah encouraged parents to guide their children towards productive online activities and urged teachers to make effective use of the new computer laboratory to improve teaching and learning.

He emphasised the importance of knowledge in achieving personal aspirations and called on education stakeholders to support initiatives that expand children’s access to quality education.
