The Ministry of Education has reaffirmed the significant impact of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, highlighting its role in bridging the gender parity gap in education.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng, pointed to impressive academic results, noting that students have achieved A1 to C6 scores across all core subjects since the policy’s implementation.
This achievement highlight the government’s commitment to ensuring equal educational opportunities for all students, regardless of gender.
Kwarteng also voiced his support for the Electoral Commission (EC), emphasizing that it operates independently and is not affiliated with any political party.
His remarks came in response to concerns raised by Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer regarding the appointment of Dr. Peter Appiahene, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to the EC.
During an interview on ABC In The Morning, Kwarteng stressed that discrepancies in the voters’ register affect all citizens, regardless of their political affiliations.
Kwarteng urged that the EC be given the opportunity to resolve the issues surrounding the voter register discrepancies, highlighting that the Commission has previously conducted audits of the register.
