Government spokesperson on governance and security, Palgrave Boakye Danquah, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating galamsey in the country.
According to him, the government will take action on the galamsey menace in the coming days following organized labour’s meeting with the government.
Speaking on ABC in the morning, Mr Boakye Danquah says the government is very concerned about the galamsey menace and will take a decision soon.
Meanwhile, Mr Boakye Danquah says the conditions of water bodies are gradually improving across the country.
His comments follow the Ghana Water Company’s statement that the Sekyere Hemang plant has begun to produce more water as the turbidity levels of rivers supplying water to the plant are improving.
