First Deputy Minority Whip, Honorable Habib Iddrisu, has condemned the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for declaring former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a fugitive of justice, calling the actions “deeply regrettable.”
Speaking on the floor of parliament earlier today, Honorable Iddrisu emphasized that no current or former government official should be subjected to what he referred to as an “undue ordeal.”
“The actions taken by the OSP are deeply regrettable,” he stated.
“No government appointee, past or present, should go through such a situation without proper investigation and reason.”
The Minority also called for the immediate summoning of the National Security Coordinator to provide clarification on the reported raid at Ofori-Atta’s residence.
The OSP recently declared Ofori-Atta a fugitive after he failed to appear for questioning regarding ongoing investigations into alleged corruption.
