President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is slated to deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

This is in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, which states that the President shall deliver a message on the State of the Nation to Parliament at the start of each session and before the dissolution of Parliament.

The upcoming address is anticipated to shed light on the government’s principal policy objectives for the year, offering insights into how the administration plans to navigate and tackle prevailing economic challenges.

The announcement of this important event was made during a session in Parliament on Tuesday by the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.

“Mr. Speaker, in accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution, H.E the President will deliver to the house a message on the State of the Nation on Tuesday, February 27, 2024,” stated Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu during the parliamentary session. He further urged honorable members to be present and actively engage in the important deliberations that will follow.

This will be President Akufo-Addo’s penultimate address to Parliament.

As anticipation builds ahead of the State of the Nation address, Ghanaians eagerly await President Akufo-Addo’s insights and directives, hoping for a comprehensive vision that will address pressing national concerns and pave the way for a prosperous future.
