The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has announced plans to explore a strategic partnership between Ghana and Serbian industrial manufacturing company UNIPROMET to support the country’s industrialization and infrastructure development.
Speaking after a visit to Serbia, the MP said her engagement with UNIPROMET forms part of efforts to attract credible international investors and industrial partners capable of contributing to Ghana’s long-term economic growth.
Founded in 1989, UNIPROMET is one of Serbia’s leading industrial manufacturers and exporters, employing more than 650 professionals across two advanced production facilities in Čačak and Kraljevo. The company exports to more than 30 countries and specializes in highway guardrails, traffic infrastructure, bridge safety barriers, steel structures, steel pipes, hot-dip galvanizing, renewable energy infrastructure, and engineering services.
Hon. Cudjoe noted that the company’s expertise presents opportunities for Ghana in areas such as local manufacturing, road and transport infrastructure, technology transfer, skills development, steel fabrication, renewable energy, and job creation for young people.
She emphasized that her vision is to position Ghana as a gateway for industrial investment in West Africa by partnering with reputable international companies that possess the technology, experience, and capacity to support national development.
According to the MP, discussions with UNIPROMET will continue alongside engagements with stakeholders in Ghana to identify areas of collaboration that align with the country’s development priorities.
She added that Ghana’s future depends not only on its natural resources but also on the strength of partnerships that promote infrastructure development, industrial expansion, and sustainable economic opportunities for future generations.
