In a bizarre turn of events, two armed robbers reportedly disappeared after being trapped inside a Forex bureau near the Las Palmas area in Abeka Lapaz, Accra, on Friday afternoon.
The robbers had stormed the bureau, demanding cash from the staff when vigilant bystanders locked the entrance, trapping them and the employees inside.
Police officers arrived promptly and forced their way into the building, only to find it empty, leaving both the robbers’ whereabouts and their escape method a mystery.
An eyewitness told Channel One News that the robbers seemed to have “vanished” without a trace, sparking widespread speculation.
Meanwhile, the Forex bureau remains under heavy security as investigations continue.
A staff member, speaking anonymously, assured the public that a formal statement would be released soon to address the incident.
