The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nana Kwasi, has strongly refuted claims that he is distributing money to influence voters.
Speaking to the media, he declared, “I am not sharing money. My younger brother feels they are going to lose and that is why he is…” emphasizing that the allegations are unfounded and lack evidence.
Nana Kwasi, who has been actively monitoring the polls alongside party colleagues, maintained that such accusations were part of a smear campaign aimed at undermining the NDC’s efforts in the constituency.
He insisted that his presence at the polls was solely to ensure transparency and to motivate party supporters.
The denial comes against the backdrop of one of the most hotly contested by-elections in recent memory. Both the NDC and NPP have mobilized national executives and senior party figures to campaign heavily in Akwatia.
With security heightened through the deployment of 5,500 police officers, the Electoral Commission has assured voters of a free and fair process, even as accusations of vote-buying intensify the political drama.
