Rev. Prof. John Azumah, President of the Kusaugh People’s Congress, has called for dialogue between political leaders and the people of Bawku to address the ongoing conflict.
Speaking on ABC in the Morning, he highlighted the role of security forces and partisan politics in fueling the violence and urged the government to relieve security personnel, who he believes are becoming part of the problem.
Rev. Azumah’s comments followed President John Mahama’s visit to Bawku, where he reaffirmed his commitment to resolving the conflict.
“I think that the President is on the right track.”
“He has demonstrated committed, leadership by even going to Bawku during the week after being inaugurated.”
He expressed dismay on how the former President handled the conflict.
“Former President sat in Accra and watch Bawku burn.”
