Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has urged Ghanaians to choose progress and innovation over what he calls the “outdated” leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) final rally ahead of the December 7 elections, Dr. Bawumia framed the contest as a pivotal moment for the nation’s future.
“This election is a clear choice between the future and the past. My opponent represents the past, and I, Dr. Bawumia, represent the future of this country,” he declared.
Highlighting the NPP’s transformative agenda, he stated, “We believe that it is possible to transform this country into an advanced nation. We believe in possibilities because we have a mindset of possibilities.”
Dr. Bawumia cited his government’s achievements in education, health, and infrastructure as evidence of their forward-thinking approach.
“We have solved the problems of parents who could not afford secondary school fees. Today, over 5 million students have benefitted. We have restored teacher trainee allowances and expanded education infrastructure,” he noted.
He touted the administration’s unparalleled investments in health, emphasizing that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government has achieved more in these sectors than any previous administration.
Dr. Bawumia painted a picture of progress under the NPP, contrasting it with what he described as the stagnant policies of the past.
In a playful yet pointed remark, Dr. Bawumia questioned voters: “Are we going into the future or are we going into the past with ‘nkukor nkitinkiti’ (Chicks)?”
He urged Ghanaians to cast their votes for the NPP to ensure continued progress and a brighter future for the nation.
“A mindset of possibilities underpins us in the NPP and the work that we have done,” he said, appealing to supporters to reject regression and embrace a future of transformation and opportunity.
