The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has advised customers to purchase sufficient electricity credit to last at least one month in preparation for an ongoing upgrade of its Nuri prepayment meters.
The upgrade, announced on Saturday, November 23, is part of the Standard Transfer Specifications (STS) protocol, aimed at enhancing efficiency and ensuring uninterrupted vending services.
ECG stressed that the upgrade is critical to maintaining reliable service and minimizing potential disruptions during the process.
In a notice, ECG urged customers to act promptly, stating, “Please buy enough top-up credit that will last for at least one month in order not to experience vending disruptions that might arise out of the ongoing Nuri meter upgrading exercise.”
The company also encouraged customers to contact its call center or engage via its social media platforms for assistance.
This proactive measure seeks to ensure a smooth transition as ECG updates its metering systems to provide better service.
