The prosecution has amended the charges against Daniel Owusu Koranteng, the suspect in the killing of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale, to include abetment to commit murder.
This development was disclosed in court on Wednesday, April 2, during a hearing of the case.
Koranteng, who has been on remand since his arrest, was initially charged with murder when he was first arraigned on March 19.
However, the prosecution revised the charges to now include abetment to murder, a legal development that was made public during the court proceedings.
Koranteng is accused of publicly sharing images of Ahmed Suale before his death and allegedly being present at the crime scene at the time of the killing in January 2019.
Following the amended charges, the court remanded Koranteng into custody, and the case has been adjourned to April 17 for further proceedings. The case continues to attract significant attention as the legal process moves forward.
