President John Dramani Mahama has constituted a new Board of Directors for the Ghana National Gas Limited Company (GNGLC), naming former Electoral Commission Chairperson Charlotte Osei and seasoned statesman Kofi Totobi Quakyi among the appointees.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, April 30, designates Mr. Totobi Quakyi as Chairman and Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay as Acting Chief Executive Officer.
Other appointees to the board include Members of Parliament Ms. Nasira Afrah Gyekye and Mr. Blay Nyameke Armah, along with Mr. Emmanuel Vincent, Mr. Samuel Kwame Borlu, Awulae Agyefi Kwame II, Mr. Baba Abdul Jamal Adama, and Ms. Charlotte Osei.
The diverse composition of the board combines deep public sector experience, institutional knowledge, and legislative oversight—an indication of the administration’s intent to inject both expertise and accountability into GNGLC’s operations.
In a statement, Ghana Gas welcomed the new board and expressed optimism about its leadership, stating: “We look forward to working with the new Board to enhance the company’s operations, address challenges, ensure quality standards, and foster peaceful coexistence.”
The appointments come at a critical time as Ghana seeks to strengthen its gas infrastructure, improve energy security, and drive industrial growth through efficient resource management.
