The Electoral Commission of Ghana is undertaking a voter exhibition exercise from August 20 to August 27, 2024.
The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO), as part of its mandate to mobilize citizens of Ghana to participate in the electoral process actively and to complement the efforts of Ghana’s Electoral Commission in ensuring transparent, free, fair, and peaceful elections, has trained and deployed 45 observers to 45 purposefully selected constituencies to observe the voter exhibition exercise.
CODEO conducted comprehensive training for all 45 observers ahead of their deployment, ensuring they were fully equipped to professionally observe the exhibition process and deliver high-quality reports to CODEO’s data center throughout the period.
Speaking at the training, Mr. Albert Arhin, the National Coordinator of CODEO, admonished the observers to adhere to best practices during the observation process. “As observers, your role is to observe, not to interfere.
Your professionalism is crucial to the credibility of this exercise and, by extension, to the integrity of our electoral system”, he said.
