The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has assured the public that concerns raised over fast-running mobile data are being taken seriously and are currently under investigation.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said he has personally seen some of the complaints and has referred them to the National Communications Authority (NCA) for further probing.
He called on the public to provide valid evidence if they suspect irregular data usage.
According to him, while some issues may be legitimate, many instances are linked to device settings that unknowingly drain data.
“If you have evidence, bring it to me. I will follow up,” he urged.
The Minister emphasized that until conclusive findings are made by the NCA, the ministry cannot point fingers.
However, he assured that if any wrongdoing is confirmed, appropriate actions will be taken.
His comments come at a time when social media has been awash with complaints from users claiming unexplained data depletion on various networks.
