The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared that reinstating the party in power will put an end to corruption in Ghana.
The party’s bold stance was articulated with the statement, “Corruption ends with us. We pledge a lean government of 60 ministers, ensuring transparency and accountability.”
This assertion was made during the launch of the NDC’s campaign for the 2024 elections, held in Tamale.
The party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, outlined several key initiatives aimed at improving governance and societal welfare.
Among these, he pledged to establish a women’s development bank, a significant step towards empowering women entrepreneurs and fostering gender equality in business.
Mahama also addressed critical issues in education, promising to abolish the double-track system, which has been a contentious topic. He emphasized the importance of enabling all Senior High School (SHS) students to attend school concurrently.
He committed to eliminating schools under trees, continuing the efforts initiated by the late President Prof. Mills. For tertiary students, Mahama proposed constructing hostels on school lands to enhance safety and convenience, reducing the need for students to travel long distances.
