The High Court will today, Tuesday, December 31, deliver its judgment on the contentious collation of parliamentary results in disputed constituencies, including Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, and Tema Central.
The case comes after the Supreme Court overturned a High Court ruling that compelled the Electoral Commission (EC) to re-collate results in constituencies initially declared for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Following the re-collations, the EC declared New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidates as winners in seven constituencies, a decision the NDC contested.

The NDC argued that their candidates’ rights to natural justice were violated as they were not granted a hearing during the initial High Court proceedings.
While the Supreme Court found no bias in the presiding judge’s actions, it agreed with the NDC’s claim and ordered the case to be reassigned to a new judge for a fresh decision.
Today’s ruling will determine the next steps in resolving disputes surrounding the parliamentary elections in these constituencies, with implications for both the NPP and the NDC’s parliamentary representation.
