The Founder and Leader of Alive Chapel International, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, and his wife, Mouha Amoako, have been arrested in connection with a fatal car accident in East Legon that claimed two young lives.
The arrest follows police identification of the couple as the parents of Elfrad Salifu Amoako, a 16-year-old suspect who was driving a Jaguar SUV involved in the deadly crash on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
According to the police, the couple is currently in custody and assisting with the ongoing investigation into the incident.
The tragic accident occurred when the suspect, Elfrad, driving the Jaguar SUV with one other passenger, collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle at Mensah Wood Street in East Legon.
The Acura, driven by Joseph Ackah, had four other occupants on board. Both vehicles caught fire following the collision and were completely destroyed.
Eyewitnesses reported that the crash site was engulfed in flames, making rescue efforts difficult. Despite this, three of the five passengers in the Acura were rescued before the fire intensified.
Unfortunately, two of the occupants of the Acura, identified as 12-year-olds Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, lost their lives in the blaze.
The police statement indicated that further investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances of the crash, and the involvement of Elfrad Salifu Amoako’s parents is being closely examined.
