The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced plans to hold another Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting to discuss issues surrounding the Provisional Voters Register.
The meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2024, will take place in the full view of the public, with live media coverage.
This move, aimed at fostering transparency, comes after the EC’s pledge to make future IPAC discussions more open.
Dr. Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairman of the EC in charge of Corporate Affairs, confirmed in an official letter that each political party is expected to send two representatives to the meeting.
The primary agenda for the upcoming session is a follow-up on previous discussions regarding the exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for the various political parties to review ongoing concerns and offer input on how to improve the registration process.
This meeting follows the first-ever live-broadcast IPAC meeting, which took place on October 1, 2024.
At that session, several issues regarding the accuracy of the provisional register were raised, and parties were urged to work together to ensure a credible voter roll for the 2024 elections.
