The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced scheduled power outages in several communities across the Tema, Ashanti West, and Accra East regions due to planned maintenance work and unexpected technical faults.

According to ECG, maintenance work in the Tema Region is scheduled for Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is aimed at improving service delivery. The affected areas in Tema include:

  • Star Steel
  • Dawhenya Township
  • Abbey Kope
  • Adotey
  • Miotso
  • Ghanaman Soccer Academy
  • Abia
  • Prampram
  • Kpoi Ete
  • Central University
  • Ososhie
  • P.S. Global
  • Devtraco
  • Methodist Junction

In addition to the planned maintenance, ECG reported ongoing power outages in the Ashanti West Region due to a cable fault at Abuakwa Maakro, affecting communities such as Abuakwa Maakro, Asonomaso, Manhyia, Koforidua, and Akrpong Junction.

Similarly, residents in Accra East are experiencing disruptions due to an underground cable fault at Ogbojo, impacting areas including Ogbojo Asafoatse, Otienshie, Ability, Dzen Ayor, Rev. Owusu Bempah area, Galaxy International School area, and Twumasewaa Hospital area.

ECG has assured affected customers that engineers are working to rectify the faults and restore power as soon as possible.
