The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has assured the public that it will conduct a thorough and meticulous review of all nomination forms submitted by political parties and independent candidates ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Her statement came after receiving the nomination forms from the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, at the Commission’s headquarters.
Mensa stated that two teams have been designated to thoroughly review the forms, ensuring that any issues that arise can be swiftly rectified within the stipulated time frame.
Dr. Bawumia, who is the current Vice President, expressed his gratitude to the Chairperson and her team, acknowledging the significant responsibilities they face in overseeing the electoral process. He extended his best wishes to the Commission as they prepare for what he described as a pivotal election in 2024.
Dr. Bawumia was accompanied by key party officials, supporters, and family members who rallied behind him as he submitted his nomination forms to the Electoral Commission Chairperson, Jean Mensa.
Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama will be submitting his nomination today at 2pm. He made this revelation earlier in a post he shared via social media.
