The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has expressed enthusiasm over the party’s placement as number eight on the ballot for the 2024 presidential election.
Following the Electoral Commission’s (EC) balloting exercise on September 20, 2023, the former president took to social media to celebrate the outcome.
Mahama described the number eight as a symbol of hope and change, rallying party supporters to embrace the significance of the position as the nation heads to the polls on December 7, 2024.
“I am excited that we picked No. 8 on the ballot for the upcoming presidential elections. Let’s make this a number of hope and change on December 7,” Mahama shared on his Facebook page.
His statement reflects growing optimism within the NDC camp as they prepare for a crucial election against the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Supporters have echoed Mahama’s sentiments, with many viewing the number as a positive omen for the party’s chances in the upcoming election.
Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, also weighed in on the significance of the number, reinforcing the party’s optimism. In a social media post, Bagbin commented, “8 is excellent.
Don’t break it. Choose it!” His words signal a strong endorsement of the party’s ballot placement, as the NDC mobilizes its base in anticipation of a competitive election season.
