Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine has issued a stern warning to employees of Kwabena Adu Boahene, former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, cautioning them against moving any assets belonging to him or his wife, or risk being arrested.

Addressing a press conference in Accra on Monday, Dr. Ayine also warned banks dealing with Adu Boahene not to facilitate any asset transfers. He emphasized that the Financial Intelligence Centre is actively tracking accounts linked to Adu Boahene and his wife. Any banks that ignore this directive will face legal consequences.

“Investigations have also established that money, mostly proceeds of crime, from Advantage Solutions Limited and BNC Communications Bureau Limited, as well as other similar sources, have been transmitted under very suspicious circumstances through the bank accounts of these companies,” Dr. Ayine revealed.

“The investigations have revealed so far that the suspect and his wife have registered companies which we are currently tracking. There are about ten companies we are tracking that they created, with Advantage Solutions mostly owning all the companies. For purposes of the ongoing investigations, we are not going to disclose those companies,” he added.

Dr. Ayine further warned that any executive, director, or employee of Adu Boahene’s companies attempting to move assets will be tracked, arrested, and prosecuted.

“All banks are also warned that if we see any wire transfers or cash withdrawals on any of the accounts belonging to Mr. Adu Boahene and his companies, the bank managers and all their employees involved in those transfers will equally be arrested.

“We are monitoring their activities, and we are monitoring all their bank accounts from the Financial Intelligence Centre. With the press of a button, we can see the movement of money on any of the accounts, so we are monitoring that very closely,” he warned.

Possible Foreign Citizenship Acquisition

The Attorney-General further disclosed that investigations suggest Adu Boahene may have acquired foreign citizenship using his amassed wealth.

“The massive wealth he has accumulated makes it possible that he has purchased another citizenship. His wife’s British passport is currently in the possession of EOCO,” he stated.

Investigators have discovered that Adu Boahene possesses two service passports
