The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man, Bright Atsu Kudiabor, for allegedly impersonating a soldier and extorting money from persons in Ashaiman.
Kudiabor, an ex-convict, was arrested by the Ashaiman Police on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at about 7:00 a.m. at an area known as “I Shall Return.”

According to the Police, the suspect was allegedly found parading himself as a soldier and demanding money from members of the public.
The Police said the suspect was initially apprehended by personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service in Ashaiman, with assistance from other persons, before he was handed over to the Police.
A search conducted on him reportedly led to the recovery of a set of military camouflage uniform.
Kudiabor is currently in Police custody and is assisting with investigations.
The Police said he will be processed for court after investigations are completed.
The Tema Regional Police Command has meanwhile urged the public to remain vigilant and report individuals who falsely present themselves as soldiers or members of other security agencies to deceive or extort money from the public.
