The Ministry of Education has recruited fifty facility managers to oversee the maintenance of newly constructed educational projects across Ghana.
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister for Education, emphasized the importance of maintaining educational facilities by setting aside a maintenance budget, noting that the culture of maintenance has often been overlooked.
The facility managers will be assigned to work with various school heads to ensure the proper upkeep of the new infrastructure.
This recruitment initiative follows the commissioning of over 80 educational projects across all 16 regions of the country.
These projects include a range of modern facilities such as STEM schools, E-blocks, and early childhood education centers, all aimed at improving access to quality education.
Dr. Adutwum commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his leadership in advancing Ghana’s education sector.
Among the notable projects are the Kpasenkpe Model STEM Senior High School, Accra STEM Academy, and Awaso Model STEM SHS.
The government continues to focus on providing a conducive learning environment for all Ghanaian children, as part of its efforts to improve the educational landscape.
