The Ghana Education Service (GES) has directed all first-year Senior High School (SHS) students across the country to report to school on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
The directive applies to both single-track and transitional schools and marks the official start of the 2025/2026 academic year.
According to a circular issued to Regional Directors of Education, the academic calendar outlines term dates, holidays, and special arrangements designed to ensure smooth operations in all second-cycle institutions.
The GES emphasized the need for consistency in implementing the calendar nationwide.
Regional Directors have been tasked to communicate the details to heads of schools and ensure strict compliance.
The GES also assured that monitoring and support mechanisms would be in place to guarantee uniformity and effective teaching and learning throughout the academic year.
