The Deputy Minister of Defence, Ernest Brogya Genfi, has announced a renewed opportunity for applicants who did not pass the medical assessment in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Genfi encouraged candidates who were disqualified during the medical stage of the 2025/2026 enlistment to revisit the medical centres where they were initially assessed to understand the reasons for their disqualification.

He emphasized that applicants found to have treatable medical conditions should seek appropriate medical care, as they will be invited for a follow-up medical review. Importantly, the reassessment will be provided free of charge, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent eligible candidates from taking part.
The initiative aims to give young Ghanaians, who were previously deemed medically unfit but whose conditions can be treated, a fair chance to join the military. The Ministry of Defence has urged all affected candidates to prepare adequately and take full advantage of this opportunity once the review schedule is officially released.
This move is expected to ease disappointment for many hopeful recruits and underscores the GAF’s commitment to fairness in the recruitment process.
