The Director of Innovation at the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Emmanuel Ofori, speaking on behalf of the Minister, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, has said government is building an ecosystem that supports communication and digital businesses while guiding responsible AI adoption in Ghana.
Addressing participants at the Ghana AI Summit and Awards, the Director ,Emmanuel Ofori stated that the National AI Strategy reflects government’s commitment to responsible AI development and sets clear priorities for the sector.
“The strategy also provides direction for research institutions and industry to help solve national challenges. It emphasizes proper clarification and management of data to ensure Ghanaians benefit from AI,” he said.
He added that the strategy is designed to position Ghanaian businesses to be competitive, create jobs, and ensure that AI is deployed ethically and in line with national values.
The summit is being held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence for Economic Growth and Job Creation”
Hon. Samuel Nartey George, the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, was represented at the event.
