Former President John Dramani Mahama has accused the previous Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration of “criminally mishandling” Ghana’s economy.
Speaking at a National Tripartite Committee meeting at the Ministry of Labour, Jobs, and Employment, he criticized the economic decisions of the past government, describing the situation as a “crime scene.”
Mahama urged labour unions to be moderate in their wage demands for 2025, assuring them that once the economy stabilizes, higher remuneration will be prioritized.
The meeting, which announced a 10% increase in base pay for public sector workers starting March 2025, was attended by key government and labour representatives.
Mahama expressed shock at the extent of economic mismanagement he has uncovered since taking office.
He reaffirmed his commitment to restoring financial stability and improving conditions for workers.
