Salam Nsia, Senior Analyst at Global Infor Analytics, has criticized Ghanaian political parties for focusing too much on making promises rather than ensuring their effective execution.
Speaking on ABC News Ghana, he lamented that politicians often present manifestos filled with grand promises but lack the realistic plans needed to actualize them.
“Manifestos are always good, but the intention of our politicians should always be that all promises are to actualize them, and actualize them in a qualitative way. Actualize them with no potholes,” he emphasized.
Nsia’s remarks come in the wake of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) manifesto launch in Takoradi, which has drawn significant attention.
He pointed out that while the manifesto outlines the party’s aspirations, it falls short in explaining how these goals will be achieved efficiently.
“Make sure that whatever you are promising, you have a plan that is realistic to actualize it,” he urged, highlighting the need for politicians to present clear and actionable plans alongside their promises.
The NPP’s manifesto launch was preceded by a health walk featuring prominent party figures, including Vice Presidential candidate Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, and Health Minister Bernard Okoe Boye.
