The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has issued an ultimatum to authorities, demanding a detailed update on the investigation into the murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale by the end of March 2025.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfour expressed frustration over the lack of progress in the case, which has remained unresolved since Suale’s assassination in January 16, 2019.
Dwumfour declared, “If by the end of March 2025, we have not seen or heard satisfactory reaction to our demand, we shall proceed to the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice to seek resolution of this matter.”
The GJA emphasized its unwavering commitment to seeking justice for Ahmed Suale, a key figure in uncovering corruption through investigative journalism.
The association urged the government and law enforcement agencies to prioritize the case and provide tangible outcomes to restore public confidence.
