Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has delivered a heartfelt New Year message, expressing unwavering faith in God’s guidance for a brighter future.
Speaking at the 31st Watch Night service hosted by the Lighthouse Chapel International in Accra, Dr. Bawumia urged Ghanaians to embrace hope and gratitude as they embark on 2025. Accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia, NPP National Chairman Stephen Ntim, and other senior party officials, he reflected on the past year and shared his optimism for the days ahead.
“The book of Thessalonians 5:18 tells us that in all things, give thanks to God. I have an abiding faith in the Lord, and for what He has done for us, we give Him thanks,” he stated, expressing gratitude for the peaceful conduct of the 2024 December elections.
Dr. Bawumia also expressed admiration for Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, who hosted the service. “Bishop Dag is truly blessed, and we thank God for his life. He is an amazing man of God whose contributions to the church and the nation are immense,” he remarked.
Reflecting on his personal journey, the Vice President declared his belief in God’s plan for his future. “I know and believe that God has a plan for me for greater and better things in the future,” he affirmed, signaling his commitment to lead with faith and vision as the nation moves forward.
Concluding his address, Dr. Bawumia extended warm wishes to the congregation and all Ghanaians. “From my wife and me, we wish you a Happy New Year. God bless Lighthouse Chapel, and God bless Bishop Dag.”
