The Ministry of Local Government has officially commenced the payment of monthly allowances to Assembly Members across the country, fulfilling a key commitment under the government’s Reset Agenda manifesto pledge.
During a press conference on Monday, July 14, the Ministry confirmed that disbursements for the months of April and May have already been processed.
Each Assembly Member is receiving GH¢1,300 per month as part of efforts to strengthen local governance and improve the welfare of elected local representatives.
The Ministry emphasized that this initiative reflects the government’s recognition of the critical role Assembly Members play in grassroots development and community leadership.
