The Government of Ghana has issued an urgent advisory for all Ghanaian nationals residing in Lebanon to leave the country immediately due to a rapidly worsening security situation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration expressed serious concern over the ongoing crisis and warned of potential risks to the safety of its citizens.
“We strongly urge Ghanaians to take swift action to ensure their safety and well-being in the face of escalating tensions,” the Ministry noted in a press release dated Friday, October 4.
Highlighting the limited availability of flights out of Lebanon, the Ministry advised citizens to seize the opportunity to evacuate while flights remain accessible.
For those who lack travel documents, the government has made provisions for Emergency Travel Certificates, which can be obtained from the Ghanaian Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, or the Honorary Consulate in Beirut.
The initiative is aimed at assisting all nationals in their departure efforts to avoid being trapped in the conflict-ridden region.
Authorities reassured Ghanaians that the government will provide the necessary support to facilitate their safe return.
“We are committed to ensuring that all our citizens are safely evacuated,” the statement read, urging individuals to prioritize their safety and act quickly to prevent any emergencies.
