The Ghana Publishing Company (GPCL) has officially launched a newly redesigned gazette with advanced security features, including a gold-coated Coat of Arms and a visible watermark.
This move forms part of initiatives to combat the growing menace of counterfeit official documents.
In a statement released on May 5, 2025, the company emphasized that the enhanced gazette aims to curb forgery and reinforce the authenticity of government publications.
“The Ghana Publishing Company (GPCL), Ghana’s sole publisher of gazettes, is proud to announce the launch of its newly designed gazette that has enhanced security features purposely to curb forgery and ensure the authenticity of official publications,” the statement noted.
The introduction of the unique watermark and gold-coloured Coat of Arms is intended to make replication through unauthorized means virtually impossible.
GPCL described the update as a critical step in safeguarding the credibility of public records and maintaining public trust.
“The redesigned gazette sets a new standard in document security for government publications,” the statement concluded, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to upholding the integrity of its services.
