The High Court has dismissed an application by former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, seeking to nullify an arrest warrant issued by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
Mr. Ofori-Atta had requested the court to declare the warrant unlawful and to set aside all enforcement actions, including the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice.
His legal team argued that the OSP had exceeded its legal authority and failed to follow proper procedures in obtaining the warrant.
However, in a ruling delivered on Thursday, the court found the application to be without merit and dismissed it in full, upholding the legality of the OSP’s actions.
The ruling marks another chapter in the ongoing dispute between Mr. Ofori-Atta and the OSP, which is probing allegations of procurement breaches and mismanagement of public funds during his tenure.
Despite several invitations, the former minister has not appeared before the OSP, citing medical treatment abroad.
He was subsequently declared wanted by the OSP in June, with efforts underway to involve Interpol.
